The world is coming to an end but you're still trying to pretend that there is nothing your children couldn't do And I would like you to acknowledge me that there is something you would rather be make yourself at home Pretend to be alone close your eyes to see there is nothing you ever will be.... This is so Rock n Roll This is so Rock n Roll This is so Rock n Roll This is so Rock n Roll Give an absolution to yourself and leave your problems on the shelf cause that’s the way that you have always done Refrain make yourself at home Pretend to be alone close your eyes to see there is nothing you ever will be….na nana na na This is so Rock n Roll This is so Rock n Roll

about

"Hortus Musicus Vol. 1" is a fascinating bouquet of music made of fuzzy guitars and beguiling recorders, bundling sad, Harvest-like western ballads with garage-punk doomsday songs. Dense and polyphonically produced, the broad, complex arrangements reflect influences from artists such as The Kinks, Small Faces, Erkin Koray and The Beatles.

RedDelicious explains the project's origins:
"Based on the 1687 collection of six suites by composer (and my supposed ancestor) Johann Adam Reincken, or Jan Adams Reincken (1643-1722), and based on his transmitted homage to J.S. Bach, 'I thought this art was dead, but I see that it lives in you,' the first part of a song cycle in different styles has been created."

Some infos on the tracks:

Jazz Cowboy: Jazz chords combined with a washed-out fuzz melody to create a fuzzy drum roll.

A Little Blood: Obituary to my cat's brother, found run over on the road.

Pretend to be Alone: If you ignore everything around you, you end up ignoring yourself.

Don't Wait: My failed attempt to reinterpret Simon & Garfunkel with hard distorted guitar folk.

Son of a Bakerman: A tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Small Faces and their album classic Ogden's Nut Gone Flake.

Summer's Gone: Summer is over, the harvest is almost in, soon comes autumn and the cold season. One more time to enjoy the warm sunshine of late summer.

Let's Take a Walk: A cathedral to walking.
